Michael co-founded Crux with Nathan in 2018.
Prior to forming Crux, Michael worked for a mid-sized local accounting firm WK Strawbridge as an Associate Principal in the business advisory space. He has also worked for the international accounting firm Deloitte (in both NZ and the UK).
Michael has worked with various clients in a virtual CFO capacity, utilising his extensive knowledge and experience in strategic planning, profit improvement, risk management and business valuations to help his clients to grow and improve their business and to build resilience.
Outside of work Michael enjoys spending time with his wife Hannah, son Archer and daughter Bella. Michael and Hannah also own a local retail business, Palm Boutique.

Nathan Silcock

Nathan co-founded Crux with Michael in 2018.
Prior to forming Crux, Nathan worked for a mid-sized local accounting firm Strawbridge & Associates as a Principal in the business advisory space. He has also worked for the international accounting firm PwC as a senior consultant specialising in general tax consultancy and international tax.
In addition to his commerce degree, Nathan also has a law degree and admission to the bar.
Nathan has extensive experience working with small and mid-market businesses as a virtual CFO. In this role, Nathan focuses on helping his clients to manage their businesses more effectively to achieve their underlying personal goals – whether those goals are financial, lifestyle or otherwise. Nathan also puts his specialist tax knowledge to good use, providing tax consultancy and planning services as well as business and personal structuring advice.
Outside of work, Nathan enjoys spending time with his wife Marie and their two young boys Ethan and Tommy. As a family, they enjoy being active and spending time outdoors biking and tramping. They also try to head away to Hanmer Springs for a relaxing holiday once or twice each year.

Rachel Finlayson

Prior to joining Crux, Rachel worked for a mid-sized local accounting firm as a client manager.
Rachel brings with her, financial accounting expertise over a wide range of industries and a good working tax knowledge. Rachel also has experience in management accounts and can provide assistance with your accounting software queries.
Outside of work she loves spending time with her wee girl Thea.

Prior to joining Crux, Rebecca worked for a small sized local accounting firm as a senior accountant.
Rebecca brings with her extensive accounting software experience and a good working tax knowledge.
Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her husband Mark and their two young boys Lucas and Logan.

Claire Sibley

Prior to joining Crux, Claire has enjoyed a wide range of experience including gaining her Chartered Accounting qualification at KPMG before moving into the Tax Software space as national Tax Manager for Thomson Reuters’ ONESource tax software suite of products. After having children Claire began the move into a public practice in a part time role to better balance her professional and personal life. Since then she has enjoyed focusing on Xero clients, charities and a wide range of small to medium sized business at various firms in Auckland and Nelson.
Outside of work Claire keeps busy with a husband, two young children and dog. You can almost always find her with a good coffee in her hand and she also enjoys hiking, yoga and reading in the sunshine.

Prior to joining Crux, Amogan worked in the hairdressing industry, while studying for her Bachelor of Accounting.
Outside of work, she loves to spend her time outdoors exploring and enjoying nature. Travelling (pre-covid), and spending time with her partner Nick and his two boys, Logan and Eli.

Romneya Gammie

Prior to joining Crux Romneya was doing bookkeeping for a couple of small Nelson businesses and studying towards a Diploma in Business (Accounting). She has worked across a range of industries in New Zealand and Australia but has found her passion in the world of accounting.
Outside of work Romneya enjoys spending time with family and friends, her two young children keep her pretty busy but when she gets some spare time she enjoys sewing and loves to go camping.
“Some people find the world of accounting complex and daunting, I enjoy being able to take that stress away from people by simplifying things and taking tasks off their hands, allowing them to focus on the parts of their business that they are passionate about. It feels like I’m really helping people and I get a lot of satisfaction from that.”
